Suzanne's unique Relationship Centered Training approach gets to the heart of the matter, and offers a refreshing, fun & eye opening look at dogs. Fine tune your understanding of your dog's behavior & motives, and learn how to get more of that wonderful connection with your canine pal.
  • Each consultation is 1 hour long (longer appointments available upon request), and you may bring just one dog or several dogs. 
  • Consultations are offered at a reduced fee of $150, as they will be observed by professional trainers studying with Suzanne.
  • Share an hour with a friend - $80 each for a semi-private consultation shared with a friend and their dog (limited to 2 people, one dog/person).
Just about any topic is fair game:

     * problem solving performance or behavior problems
     * developing your handling or observation skills
     * developing a training plan
     * tweaking performance
     * fearful/shy dogs
     * reactive dogs
     * multiple dog households
     * structure/gait analysis
     * and more

The exception is a dog with serious aggression issues (dog has injured a person or another dog). Such cases require a 2 hour session for complete assessment & work.
Suzanne will also be at k9Crazy Play Skool throughout January,  February and March to offer more private consultations as well as an interesting line up of mini-workshops and different group classes.

 

About Suzanne Clothier

 

Involved professionally with dogs since 1977, Suzanne's background is widely varied, with experience in breeding, conformation, training, puppy testing, group & in-home training, behavior assessment & modification, Search & Rescue, and more. A member of the AKC's Agility Advisory Board, she also served as a committee member for the AHA's Task Force for the Development of Humane Standards for Dog Training (1998) and is also involved with AHA's current dog training task force.

Listed in "Who's Who in Dogs" by Connie Vanacore (McMillan, 1998), Suzanne is an award winning author whose articles have been reprinted worldwide.  Her work has been published in the AKC Purebred Dog Gazette, Dogs In Canada, Dog Fancy, Wolf Clan, Delta Society, APDT Newsletter, Off Lead Magazine, TTEAM Practitioners Newsletter, German Shepherd Review & other publications.  She has appeared on numerous radio interviews in the US and Canada.

An internationally respected speaker, she has taught throughout the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Belgium, Holland and Italy, for groups as diverse as FEMA Northeast Region Disaster Dog Teams, Association for Pet Dog Trainers, Alaskan Dog Mushers Association, Vivere Il Cane and Wolf Park.  From 2008 to 2010, she was the consultant for Guiding Eyes for the Blind's Canine Development Center, helping them create a new approach to their puppy raising program based on her Relationship Centered Training.

Her book, Bones Would Rain from the Sky: Deepening Our Relationships With Dogs (Warner, 2002) has received widespread acclaim, and has been published in German and Italian.

A long time breeder of German Shepherd dogs.  Dogs produced by her Hawks Hunt breeding program have been active and successful in obedience, therapy dog work, tracking, agility, herding, Search & Rescue, and as companions.
