Cupid's Cloud

Cloud's whiskers are in the pattern of an arrow on both sides of his muzzle. Cupid's arrow???

We are calling this young boy CLOUD. Read about Coud's temperament.

My little friend is a Cairn Terrier.

Cloud's first impersonation; a show dog!

February 11th - I know nothing about the background, breeding, health, etc. I have had him since Wednesday night. This is what I know.

Initially he was SCARED of everything, people included. Warmed up rather fast to things, but responded with extreme fear first. He has growled at the sight of the leash but no longer. If pressure was applied with a leash he would freeze and then fight frantically biting at the leash. I am working on that now too. Updated below

He is good with my dogs - all of them, different sizes, breeds, ages - very respectful. Seems housebroken, but I am diligent as hell!

He crates fairly well but does scream/howl when he wants to go outside. He did have an accident in his LARGE crate today but he was crated too long. I was away from home for 4 hours, unavoidably. He is only 12 weeks. I felt bad for him, my fault! Updated below

He puts himself to bed - into crate - at night.

Loves marrow bones - they can be taken away without issue.

He is freaked out by the leash. I have him collared and he drags a leash in the house. I will begin to work on walking on leash tomorrow. I am doing a bit of handling with him too. Updated below

He is living indoors with us, crated when we are not home and at night. We have him outside, as much as the other dogs can take the cold, to play and get tired.

He doesn't like to be outside alone AFTER he is finished with potty stuff. Screams - throws himself at the door, etc. Updated below

He doesn't seem to respect baby gates - pushes through them - but he is learning. Updated below

He is VERY bright. I left him loose while eating dinner last night - we eat on the couch - he tried to push me once or twice - I ignored him - he put himself in his crate - literally next to me on the couch - I rewarded that! What a good kid. He does jump up a lot - but that too he is learning is unacceptable.

The belief is that he came from a guy that had 17 'white' husky puppies for sale this week. A man was spotted selling husky puppies out of the back of his truck. The second time this winter. I have missed him both times. He sells them for $50. Whether CLOUD, got away from him - the breeder, a new owner, or if he was truly dumped we don't know. But at this point NO ONE has called dog control for the puppy and there are no ads.

He is really great with other dogs and likes being with them. When he is loose alone in the house he stays close to me. He lays under desk chewing a bone or lays at my feet while I am watching TV.

Vaccination history is unknown. He does have a little loose stool, not very loose. There has been a LOT of stress the last 2 days.

February 14th - Cloud went out last night for a leash walk. He was so good. NO fighting with the leash. He met a neighbor who was splitting firewood. His 5 yo son was running around screaming. Cloud was very good. He was cautious of the Dad and warmed up fast. The young boy was no issue except he would scream and run each time he was about to pet Cloud. Cloud was warm to him but never was petted. Cloud did begin to offer the boy play bows and want to run with him.

Cloud sits and waits until released for his meals. He hunts (searches for kibble) for one meal each day and really enjoys that. He likes to be outside. Lays on deck and watches the world go by.  Cloud is learning that jumping on the door or on people doesn't get him anything. He will come running to me and you can see him actually try to restrain himself. He is a really bright young boy. Very  animated and too darn cute!

Cloud is very good in a crate. If there is a lot of activity he whines/cries to come out. I ignore him - he falls asleep. If he has to go to the bathroom he really gets vocal when crated. No accidents in the house.

I can handle Cloud's entire body when resting or eating. He is not pushing through the baby gates as much as before. He will still try but he isn't as insistent or nearly as fast. He sometimes' makes the mistake of wanting to play with my old Springer - 14.5 years old - she just gives him a look and he apologizes for the error and moves along.

He is loving the snow today. He was out for a long time this morning with a Shih Tzu, a Cairn Terrier, a Cockapoo, a Tibetan Terrier, and a Pit Bull mix. He was having a blast running around with everyone.

Cloud has been adopted by Bill Wilson.
